All the ornaments are handmade using our own molds and proprietary composition formula. The ornaments are hand-laid piece by piece to achieve the desired design. The frame itself is solid basswood. The frame as shown is finished in gold metal leaf and masterfully antiqued. Please refer to our website to see other frame styles. Since everything is done by hand, customization is fast and easy.
The finish on this frame is quite skillful. like painting a watercolor - if you go too far with color, you must start all over again. The finish on this frame uses the same technique. if too much color is loaded on the brush, you would have passed the intensity of the color. We would have to clean the frame and start all over again. Many of the French masters used this kind of finish on their frames.
